Popular river park maintained by Buncombe County. Trailered boats can be launched via a sloping bank and a gentle shoal allows for easy loading of canoes and kayaks. Great spot for picnics. The parking lot can become crowded at peak times. The park has been closed often due to recovery efforts from the destruction of Hurricane Helene. When the park is open, NCDEQ takes samples on Mondays and MountainTrue samples there on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
