About this location
Nasty Branch (also known as Town Branch) is a small urban stream in central Asheville that has been added to the NC DEQ list of impaired waterways for fecal coliform bacteria. It drains a heavily developed portion of the Central Asheville Watershed. Monitoring at this site is part of a broader effort to identify and address sources of bacterial pollution in urban tributaries feeding the French Broad River.
