About this location
The North Toe River flows through Avery and Mitchell Counties before joining the Cane River to form the Nolichucky River. This monitoring site near the confluence tracks water quality at an important tributary junction. The North Toe drains a mix of rural residential and some agricultural land, and has been subject to post-Hurricane Helene water quality monitoring as part of a wider effort to assess watershed recovery.
