About this location
This sampling site is located at the bridge in Hartford, Tennessee, the gateway to the Pigeon River gorge. Hartford is the hub for whitewater outfitters running the Pigeon River gorge, one of the most commercially rafted rivers in the eastern United States. The site monitors water quality at the put-in end of the gorge run before paddlers enter the whitewater section.
